A long time ago, I anchored among the moored boats at Riverton Yacht Club and they let me dinghy to the club pier and tie it there, since my brother in law was a member. I stayed there almost a week visiting my mother in Cinnaminson and sister in Riverton (I grew up in Palmyra). It is exposed and the currents are swift but the holding is good. I slept aboard every night and my single 22# Danforth held with no problems in the tide shifts. It is well out of the channel but still open to swells from wakes from ships and tugs. I made the trip up the river from Annapolis in two days, anchoring in the basin on the south side of the canal across from Chesapeake City the first night, then a long day up to Riverton YC. It was fun to visit there by boat.
