Yup. Foam has worked fine so far, but I am considering the final coat or two with a badger brush. Maybe not. 3" foam brush for tops, but 2" for side and corners. Someone suggested letting the foam soak in the varnish for a few minutes and that has been a great tip.

When I get the final build done, I am going to wet sand with 1500 and then buff out with Finesse-it. The pic doesn't show it, but it takes so long to dry that it's nearly impossible to prevent little dust specs from settling on the surface. I'm hoping this technique will work.
