If the swivel is stopping more than a foot or so away from the mast halyard sheave (eg if your jib is not a full hoist luff dimension) then this can be an ongoing problem.

There are a couple of easy solutions.. add a pennant to your sail to get the swivel to the top of the foil, or install a halyard restrainer. It will not allow your tensioned halyard to parallel the foil for any distance.. that's what allows the halyard to wrap.
