Smile Topside Color

Hey There Catalina owners,

We bought our first sailboat last year a 1977 C30 and are loving every moment with her. The boat is coming out in the next few weeks for bottom paint and a few tweaks. Was considering freshening up the topsides as they look a little aged and show the efforts of a lifetime of missed attempts at smooth docking...or something.

I have seen a few Catalinas on various boat classifieds that are light blues and even green. Never yet have I seen a Navy Blue topside. Is changing the color on a Catalina something that could be seen as unquestionable? I just love the look of a dark blue with white trim boat. Would I be bringing her value down? or make her a beauty. I don't plan on selling her anytime soon. Just would like her to stand out and not look like I come at every dock at ramming speed....if you know what I mean.

Any recommendations on Product / prep / and costs would also be appreciated.... was thinking of an interlux product most likely
