Re: 135 genoa vs 155 genoa
I have a 1967 Santana 22. Considering a larger genoa, than the 135 I have, for light air races. Wondering if anyone has any experience with the amount of increased speed with a 155? Also the affect on vmg and ability to point and interference with the spreader?
If you are racing under PHRF, keep in mind that your rating is influenced by the size of your head sails. You may find that the increased rating (i.e. decreased time allowance) off-sets any advantage conferred by the larger sail which has limited advantage particularly in relatively short inshore races. The 135 is a more versatile sail and easier to deal with.
