If there is any time when you think to yourself "self, shoulda put a pair of gloves on for that." Then I say take a pair of gloves. They're $10-20 a pair. Not your big expense on your planned trip.

I work with my hands and they are typically tough as concrete. I still like to keep a pair of gloves on the boat. I use them to haul the anchor and occasionally to handle lines, especially if I've been wet for an hour or twenty and my hands are really falling apart. Just another item of gear to have whether you use them or not, at least they don't take up much space.
