Re: Don't need no lessons..just go..

I Have always had boats in some form or another since the early 1970s
But never owned or had ever been in a sailing dinghy or yacht until some 6 years ago when we bought a fixer upper.

I had a new fast fishing boat so there was no rush to do a yacht. I did have a bit of know how and what was for waht in Yacht rigging as I worked for a company when leaving school making yacht and boat rigging items.

Well Our first yacht ever was completed and launched.
It sat in the Marina for a few weeks as we started the engine and went for a slow motor around the marina.

One summers evening we were sat on the tiny bit of decking we had and another yacht was just about to leave the marina to go to sea.

Within a flash we were right behind them going out of the marina through the basin lock and out to sea.
We motored around a bit then Hauled up the main sail.
Lurched to one side and away we went.

We have never looked back and gained all our little know how from that day.
Four yachts later and were back again to another refurb yacht and Just can't wait to be out there sailing again.

We have I must say had a few scary moments as we went from level to 40 degrees and now can't get enough of it.
