This guy does it twice each outing - once to go under the bridge on the way out, and second upon returning. He uses and A-frame:



I do mine once a season while on the hard. I use a gin pole with retention straps as "baby stays" to keep the mast and gin pole in column. It could be done on water, although I'd worry if a big wake hit me while the mast was halfway up/down:
