Re: P31-2 Plywood In Cored Deck?
I have a 1986 28-2, so made around the same time but one size smaller. I checked the Pearson 28 Forum (found on Yahoo Groups) to see what others have discovered. This was the best description:
"Our 28 has plywood in the coaming tops,
the small raised portion of the side deck where the aft stanchion is, and
under the stern railing. The middle and forward stanchions were balsa core,
and only one was wet."
I know that isn't too helpful, but it does show that Pearson mixed both cores and appeared to use plywood in high load areas.
