* West system filled with colloidal silica is not the most fun to sand.
* If you've removed glass, aren't you replacing the glass? Depends on how deep and how frequent.
* Barrier coating is just obvious. If the reason for the short cut is a sale, don't shortcut.
* If it is a trip, don't shortcut. Just wait until next season.

I can't IMAGINE stripping the bottom and then doing it over. Make some time, somehow.
