We have a pair of Ospreys that build a nest in a big fir tree on the upper island every year, we spend quite a bit of time watching them with binocs from a clearing not far away. They usually need to rebuild the nest completely because the winter storms blow it out of the top of the tree. They come down to the beach in front of our place to gather eel grass to line the nest with, they take so much that it's a real struggle for them to gain elevation. When the chicks hatch the parents have to be on guard because the Bald Eagles, vultures and even the ravens stage attacks that need to be fought off.
Looking forward to more pics Ferret, and goodonya for helping them out!
