I'm pretty sure that the gel-coat "pros" use a Pre-val sprayer as Jimgo suggested.
Use acetone to thin it for spraying. Acetone is your friend.

Color matching is an art form.
You can mix the pigment into the resin before adding the hardener. This must be done in very good light though, preferably without the sun being directly overhead.

Gel-coat smells much worse than West System epoxy.
