The thing that always bugged me about it was that it was so...earnest.

The need to "show the world something deeper and more mystical" sucked the adventure and fun right out of it...especially because the deep and mystical being revealed was just plain bat-shat crazy. To me, it was nothing more than self-imposed, somewhat-comfortable, slow-motion exile. And where's the fun in that?

Reid is exactly why I never party with ascetics.
