Check out my sheet to tiller steering

After reading some threads on here about sheet to tiller steering I had to try it out. I finally found some blocks that could snap on to the genoa track and also to the stern pulpit and got the lowest stretch small diameter line I could find at WM.

I also cut some bungees to size of varied thickness and strength for the resistance.

So I've since found out that this simple idea actually works on my boat, a 85 Cal 27 MK 3. It sails a close reach to close hauled very well with no input on the tiller.

Today it was blowing S 15 kts gusting to mid 20's on Tampa Bay so I had to take it out and take some pics. My bungees found a hiding spot on the boat so they are not pictured. You don't really need them on my boat when the wind is steady around 15kts. She needs some weather helm to stay straight.

Anyway once you set it up there's nothing left to do so I waited for a good shot of the rail down in a gust from my vantage sitting/standing on cabin top.

Check it out.
