Other consideration is chafe. Need to deploy whatever device you choose and look carefully at the runs. On my boat have sturdy cleats at extreme aft corners but still put chaffing gear over bridle lines and ran SS plate under cleat over stern to minimize. If your stern is wide enough can get some modest steering action by shortening one side of bridle versus the other. Had series drogue made up in sections. If expect storm whole thing goes over.If just to keep from tripping while running ( and don't expect things to get worse) don't put on last section with just chain at end.
