That sounds withing my ranges. I have a 1990 boat right now with only 2700 hours on the diesel.

But, I had a Cape Dory 25D with an inboard diesel, and it was so easy to sail in and out of the slip that after three years of a lot of use, I bet I didn't have 50 hours on that engine. Lot of days I would take it in and out, and never crank the engine once.

As a rental boat, I would expect a little more usage when it was actually being sailed, but how often was it actually rented? And, if you knew that, then you would know for sure it the hours were closer to accurate.
