Re: Making Distilled Water?
After pondering the matter I have decided the distillation business is rather too much brain damage and decided on another course. Last evening I poured out a gallon of distilled water in four ounce measures into plastic single serving containers that are now in the freezer. This evening I shall enclose each resulting ice-cube in a vacuum bag with our FoodSaver. The bags themselves are quite sturdy and will lend themselves to being stashed in old socks in the battery boxes for use when necessary. These, coupled with a gallon jug that we keep under the sink in our aft lavatory should be adequate for 6 - 12 months even in the outermost out islands. (Never the less, I shall obtain a "Solar Still" as suggested, just for the exercise, eh?)
