Re: Yanmar 3GM30 engine: information needed on rebuilding
I did a "top" overhaul on my 3GM30 a couple years ago. Replaced the head, valve train, heat exchanger tank, injectors, injector lines, mixing elbow. I did the work myself with no prior experience.
I'm in Alaska, ordered my parts thru Gallery Marine in Seattle (good guys to work with). I purchased a Seloc Yanmar service manual and a Yanmar parts book.
Parts were expensive, I bought new and didn't shop around (I was doing this right in the middle of our prime sailing season). The only thing we had trouble finding was a head gasket.
