Re: Price negotiation on a new boat
My son is a rigger in Annapolis and he often is tasked with installing the rig on new boats for local dealers. He has told me of real horror stories of boats fresh from the factory that have major issues he has to resolve in order to step the rig.
It is not unusual for him to have to significant parts replacement or re engineering in order to fix factory defects.
The dealer then has to attempt to get my sons bill reimbursed from the mfr.
The lesson from the Icarus story is not about human failing.
It is a lesson about the limitations of wax as an adhesive.
If you have an engineering problem solve it.
