Thank you to everyone so far. Keep the suggestions coming. Some of you had some quesitons. the footprint of the new Yanmar is very close. the center to center width between the motor mounts is spot on. the length is a bit off. I'll need to fill the old holes in the bed with some marine-tex epoxy. it looks like I will not need to do any modification to the existing engine bed.

Once the old engine is out I'm going to scrub and likely paint the engine room.

Yes, the old Yanmar will be for sale. I'll post it on Craigslist and maybe e-bay in early October. That way, a potential buyer can inspect it and run it while it's still installed. it is in Seattle and I'll ship it to whomever wants to pay for the shipping and packing.
