By the way, Florida isn't that wide; boats can be trailored across at a reasonable fee. Or, if you are inclined to go by water, there is a canal that goes from Fort Myers to Okeechobee, and one from there to Stewart. Not the fastest trip, but it would probably be neat! I didn't check bridge clearances, but if you have a deck-stepped mast...
