A warm spring welcome to our fellow C&C owners! We have had some queries already regarding the 2013 C&C Rendezvous, so here’s the lowdown.
The 2013 Rendezvous will have a different format this year, for several reasons. The core organizers of the last few rdv’s are stepping down for this year to have more time on our boats. Frank & Deanna, on Felicity, will be up in the Broughtons and/or Desolation for much of the summer, while Anne and Jim, on Paradigm Shift, are planning a 3-month circumnavigation of Vancouver Island. Margaret Ketchen, on Cardhu, will help with the organizing for a less structured event and we hope to have other volunteers to make the fun happen. We are asking for more participation from everyone for this year’s event to be even better.
There will be no formal pre-registration with the organizers this year, but each boat will have to be registered with the marina to have their space reserved. All the information you need to do this is on the web site: rdv page
There will be event registration at the dock with a nominal fee to cover facilities rental.
Yacht Sales West is not going to be sponsoring the Friday night wine meet & greet this year due to other obligations, so it’s going to be BYOB plus an appie to share with the crowd.
As a result of the new lean team, there will be no formal dinner this year on Saturday night, but the Pavilion will be available for those who want to join in a pot luck dessert frenzy. The marina store has many delicious things to choose from if you don’t want to make crepes Suzette au beurre d’orange on board. Everyone is invited to arrive at the pavilion at 7:30 PM for the annual announcements and prize draws.
We hope to have volunteers to run some fun events like the blindfold dinghy races, and one or two to organize a Tech Talk. Please let us know if you’d like to be involved.
