Fast was quite right. According to the wikipedia entry, the maximum logged speed for Cutty Sark
was 17.5 knots - with an average speed over six days on one London to Melbourne trip of a little over 15kts!
Nothing slow about that..
From RFC 1925: "(3) With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine. However, this is not necessarily a good idea. It is hard to be sure where they are going to land, and it could be dangerous sitting under them as they fly overhead."
