George Town has a couple of places where the ratio of drug dealers to normal people can get pretty high and there are quite a few thieves. I've been to a couple of places there at night, and my spidey sense told me it was time to leave.

Ten years ago, Bimini was pretty bad (they would shoot at our helicopters when we passed over) but it has had a remarkable transformation.

Most of the rest of the Bahamas is like much of the rural and really small towns in the US. Everybody knows everybody and the only time there is going to be a bad crime is when someone comes in from somewhere else and commits it.

Back in the 80's, Nassau felt a lot safer to me than it does now at night. Maybe it's just me getting older.
