Re-design: 67 Racer Cruiser into a Daysailer.

A year ago, this 1967 41' Ohlsen, a "fast" cruiser/racer in it's day, had the cabin house cut off between the two large aft ports in this drawing.

The result is GYRE, now a daysailor redesigned to sail and race with a large family or crew.

The redesign was inspired by this new cockpit, now around 11' long(the lens doesn't do justice to the length here). Rockport Marine did a fine job on this reconstruction, especially the new coaming which ties it together.

As the idea and much of the design work was sort of "seat of the pants", many are surprised how nicely GYRE turned out.
