Re: Anchoring with changing tides and wind

I headed to port townsend as we speak. The wind is really light and I've been watching smith island for what seems like forever

I did that technique for the first time last night in Friday harbor. I let the anchor out to just touch and had the motor in neutral. I let loose some line into my hand and keeping tension so the chain didn't pile up I walked back to the cockpit and reversed while I let the line through my hand and it did stay over the bow roller. This is my new method. Loved it. Got a really good set.
