Re bow cleat(s). I have two cleats - one on each side where line chocks would be mounted. First boat with this arrangement for me and I LOVE IT. Leaves the foredeck clear so jib sheets don't foul. Only problem I have with it is boat specific and that is lack of good backing plate inside and no room to put one of any size because the hull liner is in the way. They are just (appx.) 6" two bolt cleats but seem solid enough. My boat has stayed on it's mooring while others in the same cove have broken loose and one even lost it's mast in strong (real strong) winds.
For mooring I always use two lines, one to each cleat and if anchoring in strong winds I do the same.
