I would be careful about flourescent. I know the CFL's contain mercury. If one should break (I know, what are the odds since it's on a rolling, pitching boat?), you'll have a HazMat scene on your hands, and mercury poisoning isn't fun (only do the online search if you have a strong stomach). The tube lights may not be as bad. But in the end, the LED's will give you longer life and lower power use. If you have to, put them behind a diffuser to give you a slightly different color.
