The cable parted while motoring and I was stuck in forward. Got back to my slip and now need to fix it. Removed the compass and pedestal head .. a confusing mess.. My boat is a Northern 29 with an Atomic 4 the pedestal is an old Edson with the shift on the left ... a steel rod with a black plastic handle that you fit into a sleeve on the pedestal to shift up or down. The boat and I assume pedestal and shift are all vintage 1973. Anyone have experience doing this ? Help!
