If your kids are avid readers, why tempt them away from that? I'm pretty vehemently opposed to TV on a boat.. isn't the whole point to escape that 'world' along with it's gadgets and distractions? Beachcombing and swimming, boat handling, navigating, there's always something to do with a good book as a fall back.
Even when I try to read during the day I find myself distracted by the world around me.. a high-EQ anchoring exercise, a particularly nice boat entering the bay, a couple yelling at each other but in a way that only the rest of us can hear it all
and best of all, the sound of a happy child on the beach...
Who has time for TV???
