Re: Rum enjoyment

How good is good rum.

When we were cruising our ritual almost everyday was to create a nice little rum based drink for sundowners, whip up some nice nibbles, and sit in the cockpit, enjoying the lifestyle that is voyaging wherever one likes, weather willing, on your own vessel, free of the crap that is supposedly of great importance to the real world.

Alas I am now back in this 'real world' trying to top up the cruising kitty by working, emailing, phone conferencing and workshopping.

What makes it all better for me, is this moment right now, i am sipping nice rum, reading the blogs of people doing the things we are hoping to do again soon, visualising the sun setting on familiar anchorages and imagining what the sunset will look like in the new places we hope to discover. Hopping on here, focusing again on the ocean, my beautiful boat, and talking sailing while sipping rum is where it is at.
