While I often like OCD style organization, the clear shrink wrap approach seems both time consuming and expensive. It also doesn't seem like it would work around 18g wire, very well either.

I do like labeled wiring, but prefer one of the several alpha-numberic clips and tabs available and having a wiring diagram in my maintenance log book. The snap, wrap or clip on and you're done. No heat gun, printer labels, etc. For big stuff, like battery cables or 110v cable, you can just write on them with a sharpie.

Probably just me.
