Although you went to a smaller HP is the 4 strokes heavier / lighter than the old 2 stroke? And is it on a lifting bracket or attached directly to the boat? The reason I asked is I have discovered that my PO install a 4 stroke on a bracket rated for a2 stroke. The bracket springs are not strong enough for a 4 stroke, consequently it is a PITA the lift the motor straight up. I also notice some bounciness in the whole assembly so I have installed extra safety chains in case the whole shebang parts company with the hull. The bracket is # 2 on my replacement list for next year.
