Re: Where do you like to cruise?
North and East shore of Lake Superior. Wilderness cruising at its finest. It's hundreds of nm of nothing but remote anchorages, waterfalls, rivers to explore and blessed few people. Big water for long-distance sailing. Scary weather and storms if you need a challenge, but mainly just pristine wilderness, with virtually no one out there. We usually go out for 6 weeks each summer, and will share an anchorage less than half those nights.
The south shore offers some nice small-town sailing, but for those drawn to solitude and real wilderness, I invite you to check out Canada's Lake Superior.
Why go fast, when you can go slow.
