The new engine is a good bit lighter, maybe 10-15 lbs lighter. It is on a lifting bracket which sucks and never lifts out exactly right so I just leave it lowered. While both engines were long shaft, the newer one seems to sit better in the water, or rather deeper. I did decide to tie a rope from the engine to the back cleat in case the whole thing decides to fall off but overall it seems to be the best upgrade I've made so far.
