While the two do compete, are owned by the same parent company, not positive that these two models are truly going after the same market per say. One of those, while they do, they are two different boats, perform differently, have different style cues etc. At lest locally, Beneteau length for length is lower in price than a jeanneau! Beneteau seems to have that advantage no matter how one slices the cake.
With that in mind, it will be interesting to see how the new boat looks. The 379 is not as pretty as previous Jeanneau's in the same 36=37' range IMHO!
