Hi, I don''t know what kind of a boat you have,but usually the backstay remains,and 2 running backstays are added to the mast at the same height as the inner forestay. If your boat was originally designed for this option, the company may have a drawing showing how it should done. Proper attachment at the deck is extremly important.
