I could have bought an F150 or 250 for what I paid for my disco (it's a 2003 with 71,000 miles) but then I would not have just been sore from sitting 16 hours.. I would have been beaten up too. The Disco is a nice place to spend time on the road.
I know people badmouth these trucks for being unreliable, but it never missed a beat the whole way up and back. 400+ miles both ways. The only bad part was the climb up out of the valley Lake Champlain is in. I was in the far right lane floored for several minutes. I was beginning to smell oil from blowby.. but as soon as the road evened out, she just kept right on going like nothing was wrong. Most of the time I had the CC set to 65 and just rowed back and forth from D to 3 as needed to keep the speeds up.
Mine does not have air ride as you can tell in the pic
