Re: Sail time from Annapolis to St Martin - November

I sailed from Annapolis to St. Martin at the beginning of December last year. From Annapolis 2 overnight stop before clearing out in Norfolk, Va. and then 8 days crossing in heavy weather to St. Martin.

This is on a 57 foot sloop but I didn't push it - partially motorsailed and 2-3 reefs in the sails. 6-8 knots speed were common, sometimes higher and occasionally lower. An IP38 is going to be quite a bit slower overall on this trip due to the expected seas and weather, you would probably average under 5 knots so your trip would take several days more.

A lot will depend upon the boat, the weather and whether Bermuda is planned or used as an emergency or weather stop.

10 days minimum from Norfolk to Marigot (good weather and some motorsailing/motoring), 12-14days likely and 15-17 days with adverse conditions.
