If you were motor sailing, then you weren't a sailboat, you were a powerboat.
Actually you are still a sailboat, you are not a sailing-vessel, you are a power-driven vessel.
(b) The term "power-driven vessel" means any vessel propelled by machinery.
(c) The term "sailing vessel" means any vessel under sail provided that propelling machinery, if fitted, is not being used.
Yes the words and semantics matter.
