How to take a dinghy on a cruise?

Newb question, I'm renting a boat and the guy asked me if I want a dinghy. I looked at the boat and it doesn't appear to have the rigging on the stern to launch a dinghy from. So just curious, how would we be expected to take the dinghy?

I'm imagining that dinghy in this instance means "zodiac with a 2 hp motor on the back" But I could be wrong. Maybe it is just a zodiac with some paddles?

In any case, what is the typical way you take a dinghy along on a 7 day cruise? Do you tow it?

We do plan to be anchoring at some anchorages on our cruise, and the boat is a 27 foot tanzer.
