Re: Too big for a sunfish?

Many sit in type dinghys out there that will work in your price range. Mutineer, Buccaneer come to mind. These boats will perform well and easily carry your weight. Older classes of dinghy's, GP14, Blue Jay, Comet, as well as newer class DC will get it done as well. Most of these boats will sail circles around the newer American 14's. Ok maybe not the Blue Jay. Then there are the Oday's. These are great boats. And if you can find a Boston Whaler Harpoon for $1000 grab it! They are out there. If you have the need for speed there are Hobie 14s in your price range. Fun and comfortable!!!

OK, I didn't answer your question. Truth is i know little about Sunfish other than there are thousands of them out there. Which, in self says something! I did give you plenty of alternatives. All great boats within your price range that regularly show up on CL.
