I second Annapolis Book of Seamanship. That is the second sailing book I bought after the ASA 101 book I received with my course. It is loaded with information but is easy to understand and nicely broken down into chapters for the very beginner up to more intermediate stuff. Like you, I knew pretty much nothing about sailing when I bought the book and had no problem following along.
