Slyrss3 makes a good point...the sailing schools are great if you don't know anyone who can take you out sailing and you have no other way to get into the sport. Otherwise, you won't learn anything in an expensive introductory class that a friend with a moderate amount of sailing experience can't teach you. Also, the school experience depends by-and-large on the instructor.
