Most of the time you are below, you are not standing as a general rule. The one place that headroom is often useful is the head... where getting back into foul weather gear is difficult if you can't stand up.

I don't know of any boat manufacturers that publish headroom as a general statistic for their boats. It also varies quite a bit within a given boat.

What you should be more concerned with is the length of the berths... if you will have one that you can comfortably lie down in without being crowded.
