Our very first boat!

After many years of looking, dreaming, chartering, and spending much to much time online reading about anything sailing, we have finally bit the bullet and bought our first real sailboat other than the dingy. Thanks to everyone on here and other boards that have helped with my many questions!

We made the calculation that it made more sense to pick up a smaller trailer sailor that we could use every weekend and go down to the coast when we can to do afternoon charters when we want to get out on a bigger keelboat.

We found a beautifully kept 1981 Mac 25 only 30 minutes from our house with a slip for the rest of the year.

Here is a tour!
Stern view. All sheets are being replaced this week along with some block fixes to the mainsheet system.

Down the companionway.

Interior with the oh so cool cushions. What a ton of room in a 25 footer.

Shot from the bow with the pop top enclosure.

Finally at sail. Sails are original we think and need to be replaced desperately! But, we were able to hit 5.5 knots (GPS) with pretty moderate wind so no complaints here.

Big Lake! This is where we are in a slip currently.

Solar battery tender. Pretty simple electric on the boat with pull start 2 stroke and just a depth/fish finder to run.

We have already spent many nights on the hook testing everything out. She needs some work for sure but is in great shape. Lots of room inside for our family. A pack and play straps in at the dinette for our 1 year old perfectly. Our 4 year old spent the whole time out having a ball. Wasn't even interested in electronics for 2 full days. What a great time for the whole family!

And finally, our first of hopefully many sunset pics from our boat.
