Re: New Puget Sound Sailor needs jib advice

My boat came with a 155. I didn't think it performed well when partially furled, so I got a 110 for fall and winter sailing when the wind is a bit stronger. I figured with the 110, I could just leave it out even in heavier wind so I wouldn't have to deal with a partially furled jib. I've never taken it off. It is much better behaved in heavy air than the big sail and I notice very little if any difference in light air. The boat tacks easier and seems to accelerate quicker after tacking. I think it all depends on what the boat is designed for.
