Ah, yep. That was/is the thickness of the layup in the keel stub where the cast iron/lead keel is bolted on. Generally however, the hull thickness at the turn of the bilge is somewhat less but the boats are very heavily built and sail like a witch (and are quite handsome to boot!). Frers never designed a slow boat.
