As and A4 gasoline sailboat owner there are various products like the fireboy gasoline fume detector line that will do what you want

BUT IMHP with a carburetor 18" from my Quarter Berths if boat builds up any real level of gasoline fumes its broken

I gotta tell you one drop of gasoline will smell up my boat so i just don't tolerate and leaks
