Having lived in OC ,NJ for 18 years on Seaspry Road with. Birdseed view every day of he inlet, I can say or sure it's not sailboat friendly unless you boat is a hobie cat. We often took our hobie across the inlet and the rudders pipped in the middle of the channel many times

Cape May, Atlantic City, Manesquan are fine and easy. Barnegat can be trecherous ad you shoud have local knowledge and good conditions. Prettiest anchorage on the coast is Eyers Hole behind the Barnegat lighthouse. All others shoud be avoided.
